Maternity Portraits.Las Vegas Nevada. Amanda and Tracy

Let me re-introduce Amanda and Tracy. They were married on 07/08/09 in California. After the great experience they had with our team, Amanda knew when the time came, maternity portraits were a must. So imagine our surprise, when they called to let us know they were expecting a baby girl. Since Mike was busy with his world travels, I had the opportunity to photograph this wonderful couple who couldn’t be more excited for the baby’s arrival. Thank you for letting me capture this special time and thank you Tracy for being a good sport and showing a “little” skin and the pregnancy weight you have acquired. I am looking forward to the call any time now for the newborn session.

Tammi + Family

Tammi, one of my fabulous photography assistants, allowed me the pleasure of photographing her personality rich family. These are some of my favorite family portraits I’ve ever taken. I just love how they tell the story of who the family is in such a hilarious way.

Just prior to Tammi’s family portrait session, I read an article in which the photography teacher shared how he asks his students to bring to class their favorite family portraits. He said that they usually bring the portraits that are out of focus with a less than perfect background but that tell a story about the people in the pictures. I couldn’t help but identify with this regarding my own family portraits from my childhood. Thus my inspiration for Tammi’s family portraits.

Thank you Tammi! You have a beautiful family and you are amazing!

This last image is the super cool creation Tammi’s daughter made for me, a red velvet cake in the likeness of a camera! This was the coolest gift ever!

Baby Charlotte + Family

A few words from a sweet note to Charlotte and her mommy and daddy from her Aunt Sarah, Uncle Jon and cousin Bailey:

“Ten little fingers and itty bitty toes, and your Daddy’s freckled nose. Wisps of beautiful hair, skin so soft, smooth, and fair. Chubby cheeks to kiss and squeeze; legs with tiny knobby knees. A healthy baby to love and adore, no one could ask for anything more. We are so glad to add you as a new part in our hearts. As you grow to dance and sing, and spread all the joy a little girl can bring.”

Congratulations Briana and Matthew on your beautiful baby girl!

The Urcioli Family + Penny

These are a few of my favorite images from the recent portrait session at the studio with the fabulous Urcioli Family and their new addition, Penny. Thanks to Penny for breaking me in as a pet photographer. Puppies have more energy than kids, I did not know that! Even though she wares them ragged, you can see the Urcioli’s adore their new family member.

More Family Portrait Sessions will be posted in the spirit of the rapidly approaching Holiday Season! I know your thinking it’s still a long way away but Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas will soon be here. I will post our Holiday Portrait Special soon, so keep your eyes peeled for it. I always suggest to clients to book Holiday Portraits in September or October to allow time for printing of Holiday Cards and gifts.

Urcioli Kids- The Arts District

I have been receiving requests to see new family portraits and new portrait locations so I bring you : The Urcioli Kids, Savannah and Phoenix. I have been capturing the Urcioli family portraits over the last couple of years and Laci wanted to do something different. We decided to do the children’s portraits in the Arts District, just a hop and a skip from Digs studio. The kids had a great time despite the high temperatures, typical of summer in Las Vegas. Phoenix entertained us all while he goofed around with the punchy baloon and whoopie cushion I brought to the shoot and Savannah had fun playing dress up with the purses, hats and sunglasses. The Arts District offers an amazing variety of backgrounds and is great for families that want a less traditional look for their family portraits.

I hope you enjoy these portraits and there will me more family portraiture coming soon.
