Lisa and Afshin! A fab party.

This weekend I had the absolute pleasure to photograph Lisa and Afshin’s wedding. They were both so much fun and full of life. Along with the rest of their crowd. The whole night was non-stop dancing! Belly Dancers and Swimming?! This was not your everyday wedding. I had an absolute blast. Thank you both for bein so great!

Christine and Tim! 20 Years Later.

I can’t go on enough about how great this couple is. I absolutely adored them, seeing how in love they were even after 20+ years gives my young soul hope. Tim pointed out that they had already been married six years when I was born! (You guys are not old, I’m just a baby!) Thank you both so much for such a great shoot. I had a really great time and I hope you love you photos. You both look awesome!

Michelle+Stephen | The Highlight

Being able to travel and see new wedding venues is always exciting. Michelle and Stephen’s day in Genoa NV did not disappoint. The Orchard House was beautiful place to capture a wedding and left us wanting more of that awesome light it provided. The combination of the venue and this awesome couple made for a ton of choices for a film. This Highlight only captures a few of the parts of the great weekend. Stephen and Michelle you guys rock. I hope my wedding day can have as much character as yours did. It was my pleasure working with you guys. Im excited to work on your feature film.

NEW YORK NEW YORK!

I was born in the most amazing city and raised in the lamest! Luckily, I have so many family and friends in New York that I’m able to visit whenever my little heart desires! This trip was a little bitter-sweet. My best friend of nearly 10 years, Kevin, just moved out there. So being the great friend that I am, I went across the country to drop him off. I had a great time, the weather was absolutely PERFECT (besides humidity, which us Vegas locals are not quite used to). Here are a few photos from my trip.

I wanted to feel like every other New Yorker, so I grabbed Ez’s cigarette. Chaz can even make smoking look cool. (I’ve never inhaled a cigarette in my life)

This is my grandpa and his Doo Wop band. They are absolutely amazing and I am so happy I was able to photograph him.

Our last day, and we were definitely sad to be leaving Kevin and Andrea and the beautiful city.

Kathleen+Kurt. Married. Las Vegas Wedding Cinema

Kathleen and Kurt are the model example of how love can overcome any distance and obstacle. Their day was full of great people, a beautiful ceremony at Guardian Angle Cathedral, awesome decor done by LTevention and a party with no dull moments at Caesars Palace. It was an inspiration to see all the guests traveling from all parts of the world for this event. This shows the true character of Kathleen and Kurt and the love their family and friends have for them.

Kathleen and Kurt, I am so grateful that I was part of your day. I look forward to working on your Feature film and cant wait to hear what you think about your highlight. Thanks again!

Maternity Portraits.Las Vegas Nevada. Amanda and Tracy

Let me re-introduce Amanda and Tracy. They were married on 07/08/09 in California. After the great experience they had with our team, Amanda knew when the time came, maternity portraits were a must. So imagine our surprise, when they called to let us know they were expecting a baby girl. Since Mike was busy with his world travels, I had the opportunity to photograph this wonderful couple who couldn’t be more excited for the baby’s arrival. Thank you for letting me capture this special time and thank you Tracy for being a good sport and showing a “little” skin and the pregnancy weight you have acquired. I am looking forward to the call any time now for the newborn session.

Mina+Ervin | The Highlight from DragonRidge. Las Vegas wedding cinema and video

You may have seen Mina and Ervin’s same day edit back in October but I thought I’d post there highlights from the day as well. They were so much fun to work with. Mina had me laughing the whole day! I also got some help from the boss on this one since Derek jumped on this project to be my second shooter. Did he do a good job? What do you think?

Justin+Mel | Save the date!

I am so excited to show this clip off for two reasons. For one, Justin and Mel happen to be really good friends of mine and this is the first of many friends I have getting married who I will have the honor of filming over the next two years. The other reason I am excited about this clip is because in is showcasing the evolution that digs films are going through. What we have been really trying ever since we switched to the cinematic style is to tell our couples stories at the point were a stranger can look at a film and relate to it as if the were relating to a character in a movie. This clip is just the tip of the iceberg on were we plan on going with our couples, more personnel, and more about the people. No formula just me getting to know you as best I can, to become a friend so that I can tell your story better then anyone else.

Again I’d like to thank my friends for letting me do this and especially thank Mel for letting me push the envelope when she started to cry. One of the best interviews I’ve ever done, but you’ll have to wait to November to see how it all pans out ; )

Riza+Nick’s Same Day Edit

The cinema team is back in swing with our first wedding of the season. Riza and Nick were so much fun to work with, watching these to together was a real pleasure for us it made crafting there story so easy. What we really wanted to showcase in this short was how these two are getting ready to face the future together. Filming there house closing was essential to what I wanted to show. I felt by showing this sequence the film becomes about much more then a wedding day.

On a technical note this wedding was the fastest I have ever had to get a same day edit up. Usually I don’t get to start editing the SDE until we get to the reception but thanks to Asha who helped me with both assisting and picking out shots to be transcoded I was able to finish it in record time. A few of her shots even made the film!

Jackie and Marc married Four Seasons

The words to describe this wedding held at Four Seasons, WOW!! Working with Destinations by Design and the team at Four Seasons led by Lauren, Jackie and Marc put together a memorable and unique wedding held the night before Halloween.
Our team started out early in the day to capture the transformation of the ballroom. We visited Jackie and the girls as they had breakfast. Later in the day we returned as hair and makeup was being finished and the wedding dress was revealed. Strapless, silk chiffon with hand rolled rosettes- need I say more. Jackie then accessorized with a beautiful necklace and hair piece. We were then ready for the reveal, where she met Marc at the bottom of the grand staircase. The reveal is one of my favorite parts of the day.
The ceremony was outdoors lit by candlelight. After a touching ceremony the party began in a ballroom adorned with red roses, chandeliers and candelabras. Lots of surprises were in store for the guests. The favors placed on the table were silver masks, that many guests tried on. The first dance was choreographed by Kim with A Perfect Wedding Dance and then dinner began.
Following dinner Digs Studio had a surprise of their own as the cinema presented a same day edit (SDE), the guests loved it and then from there the second party began as the ballroom went dark and the waiters came in carrying carved pumpkins. The dance floor opened with a dance team performing “Thriller” by Michael Jackson. We left the party after midnight and the party was still going strong.
