Pamela and Chris are tying the knot at The Purple Orchid Inn Wine Country Resort and Spa in Livermore, CA in August and after spending an afternoon photographing the couple I have to say I am already excited about their big day. Not only did they look great together, but they both have such amazing characters, and it was not hard to figure out that they both live life to the fullest everyday. I don’t think everyone can say that. Pamela and Chris, it truly was a joy and we will look forward to your upcoming party, hope you enjoy a few of the many hundreds of images taken.

Meet baby Emmanual, this little guy is always smiling and laughing, and with his good looks and his wonderful family he has a lot to smile about, that is for sure. Emmanual had a very busy day, not only did he get baptized he also threw one great party for his friends and family. Lots of food, dancing, gifts and cake, what more could a kid ever want.

To all of Emmanual’s family thank you for having Rhi and I part of your day, enjoy a few of the images and slideshow here.

Where in the world did 2011 go? I can’t believe the new year is creeping up on us already. In celebration of the beautiful New Year to come I wanted to show off some of my favorite photos from 2011. This was my first year shooting (so don’t judge to harshly jan-juneish). Seriously, so a big thank you to all of my amazing clients that trusted me with such important days in their lives. I must say, my first year couldn’t have been any better. You were all so much fun and easy to work with. But of course I have to give all the thanks and credit to my Digs team. Derek and Rhi, I couldn’t explain how much it means to me that you guys took a risk on a high school student and put so much trust in me. I wouldn’t be doing what I am doing today if it weren’t for the both of you. I love you both so much for everything you have given and taught me. And Michael, can’t forget Michael. You’ll forever be my “boss”. Thank you so much for all the knowledge you have shared with me over the years and for making weddings fun even though I hated assisting. I couldn’t have had a better teacher. Last but not least, my Grady! Thank you so much for the amazing friendship you have given me. I couldn’t ask for something better to take out of Digs. You’re a great guy and my best friend! GA SHOW! I am so excited for next year. I can’t wait to see my work grow. I only have two more years to be the best! Successful by 21 (Listen Bitches)! kat+simon.eloped!

After Kat’s brother’s big production of a wedding, Kat and Simon decided to elope, coming by way of Sydney, Australia. I can totally empathize as sometimes you just want to do something personal, just the two of you… and I love an impulse decision too! They decided to get kitchy and tie the knot in Vegas, complete with Elvis at the little ceremony for two at the Graceland Chapel. Since I wouldn’t be allowed to shoot the ceremony (chapels got rules!), we took a little tour around Vegas, ending up at tried and true downtown LV.
Such a cool couple, we had a blast. They were so all over each other and having fun with the whole experience, it was not work at all, just hanging out, taking some pics, drinking a couple of good good brews (thanks Simon!)
I hope they love their Vegas elopement pics as much as I had making them!

A great practice us photographers don’t do enough is to have our photograph taken. I probably have like 3 photos of myself over the last couple years… “the shoemaker’s daughter has no shoes” they say.
Well, there comes a time when all of us either want or need a portrait, so when I offered Jeniffer a session, it became two photographers geeking out and taking turns with the camera around the Clark County Museum, an awesome place to shoot. There were colors and great light and all kinds of backdrops to play with.
What’s so important about photographers photographing photographers is the experience of being in front of the camera for a change. What it feels like… wow… quite the lesson! And while I continue to prefer to be behind my Canon, I have so much more empathy for those in my viewfinder.
Jeniffer, being my buddy (and kind of a former client since I photographed her wedding a couple years ago) was so much fun to shoot with. And the light seemed to find her beautiful eyes everywhere we went. I hope these photos will do for her pro pic.
And although I don’t care to show pictures of myself, I am moved to show off Jen’s handiwork. She did good!

My lost wedding of the year definitely was a beautiful one. Thanks to the lovely ladies at . We had the whole team there for this one, including our amazing intern Jamie, who assisted and second shot for me and did a fabulous job. Some of her photos were even blog worthy! Dang! Vivianne and Eugene were a very quiet couple but once that music came on it was definitely party time. Thank you everyone for ending my year with a good one!

rena+sean.the las vegas portraits

Rena and Sean are in Vegas direct from S. Korea. Rena, being a graduate of UNLV, knows her way around Vegas and is showing her new husband around town. And while they were at it, got a portrait session to make make up for their engagement session, that never was. I loved showing them around downtown Vegas, which has changed so much in the five years Rena has been gone.
They were so much fun to spend time with and having them play together and making some images. Digs style is way different than the more traditional style back home for them. I hope they’re excited to show everyone back home something different. I hope they love love love their photos! Enjoy all!

Alicia and Miles are tying the knott next year at The Purple Orchid Wine Country Resort and Spa, in Livermore CA, and Rhi and I had the privilege of photographing their engagement session. Not only was the December weather absolutely perfect, but the leaves had not yet fallen on many of the surrounding vineyards, which made for some spectacular backdrops. And what can I say about this awesome couple, not only did they look great in front of the camera, but they were a blast to hang out with. Enjoy a few of the images.

Heather and Paul and their adorable pooch Maya joined me for a chilly but fun little walk through Lake Las Vegas for their e-session last week. They were so great together. I think they spend as much time time this close together even without a camera on them.
Keep an eye out for the wedding… coming soon enough… when it’s much warmer out! In the meantime, enjoy some of my favorite pics from our afternoon.
