Kathryn+Todd.Married

Last week, our studio had the good fortune of getting out of the heat and heading to the Pacific coast. Mike, Jason and team headed to Southern California and Derek and I headed to Oregon. Both our clients celebrated their weddings on 7.8.9, and we felt lucky to be a part of the weekday nuptials.
Before you see the images, let me introduce this couple. Derek and I had the pleasure of meeting Kate through our friends about 5 years ago and we have had the opportunity to watch Kate’s son, Jonah grow into this little man. A few years back Kate met Todd, a fellow Oregonian like Derek, and they found their “One Big Love.” Since they fell in love on the coast, they thought it would only be right to bring family and friends to the quaint town of Yachats, Or to share the important day.
In the last few months, as the wedding plans came together Kate and Todd asked us to be a part of their day. Now for Derek, the chance to photograph in Oregon, on the Pacific, with beautiful overcast lighting was something he always hoped for. The weather did not disappoint. We arrived on Tuesday, to cloudy skies with a high of 55 and the party made the most of the weather. After a great dinner at a local restaurant we headed to the beach for a bonfire celebration. We awoke on the wedding day to cloudy skies and some sprinkles, but by the time we were ready to work, the sky was amazing.
When we arrived to at The Overleaf Lodge, one could tell that Kate and Todd put many days in preparing all the details. From the decor, to the cake, to the favors all was beautiful. The fine food and the menu infused with local products and seafood was amazing. The day was memorable, even for us as we captured the moments and celebrated their love.
